In the Traveling Tabletop Games class, students will learn to play and create up to four unique, ancient games. This hands-on class introduces both woodcarving and leathercraft, making it a great entry point for working with these materials. No prior experience with tools or materials is required.
The class is centered around creating classic, portable games that are easy to play anywhere. Students will have the opportunity to customize their game boards with stamped or carved embellishments, and game pieces will be made from wood, with options for carving and personalizing each piece. The class will begin with playing a selection of ancient games so students can discover which ones they’re drawn to before creating their own versions to take home.
Instructor will provide the following:
All tools and materials.
Students are asked to bring:
-
Closed-toe shoes
-
Wear clothes that can get messy
-
