With wool, water, and a bit of hands-on work, you can create a beautiful basket that becomes a true centerpiece in your home. In this class, you’ll learn how to lay out and felt a sturdy, three-dimensional basket complete with handles. Once the felting process is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to add embellishments to further personalize your piece.
This class offers a satisfying blend of structure and creativity, resulting in a functional and artful handmade basket you can enjoy for years to come.
Your instructor will provide the following:
All wool (both base wool and decorative wool), resist, magic mesh, and coverings for handles
Students are asked to bring:

2 towels: 1 kitchen and 1 bath towel

Sharp scissors

Large-eyed needle with a sharp point

Any special colored wool that is desired

Skill Level
Beginner-friendly; no experience required. Wet felting is a physical experience requiring use of hands arms and standing for an hour or more.
Age Requirement
Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Students ages 16 and 17 may attend without a parent/guardian in attendance as long as MMFS is provided with written parental permission by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
