West African Drumming Ensemble SINGLE SESSION

Expand your knowledge of hand-drumming techniques across djembe and kpanlogo drums, bells, shakers, and stick drums. In this class, you’ll explore how layered rhythms come together to create rich musical conversations within traditional West African genres.

*Please note – you are registering for a SINGLE SESSION on May 15, 2026. If you prefer to register for the full class series, the classes are at a discounted rate of $10 each.  You can find the FULL SERIES registration under the class listing for March 6.

Your instructor will provide the following:

• Drums for up to 6 students at a time

• Additional percussion instruments

Students are asked to bring:

• Joy, openness to learning something new, and a djembe or kpanlogo drum if they have one.

Skill Level 

All levels are welcome!

Age Requirement

16+ (Ages 16-17 can register with parent permission via email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org).

NOTE: Be aware we may cancel class if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
