Stitch meditation is a creative mindful practice that helps you reduce stress, increase mindfulness, develop your stitching skills, and discover your unique creative voice.

In this 3 hour workshop, you’ll explore a calming process that blends simple hand stitching with the principles of meditation. The repetitive rhythm of stitching gently quiets the analytical mind, allowing space for intuition and creativity to flow.

This class focuses on the process, not the final product—though you’ll leave with at least 1 finished 5″ x 5″ stitched fabric collage as a personal expression of your time in practice.

The instructor will bring a variety of hand dyed and vintage Japanese Shibori fabric.

Your instructor will provide the following:

• Fabric
• Sashiko thread
• Needle
• Needle threader
• Scissors

Students are asked to bring:

• None, but students are welcome to bring their own scissors and fabric scraps.

Skill Level
No experience or supplies needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

Age Requirement
Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Ages 16-18 can register with parent permission (by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org).
