Topics Kara Lundin
A medicinal herb garden is a planted space serving your health and well-being. Most herbs are
not difficult to grow, and many produce lovely flowers and/or interesting foliage that are
beneficial to you and your environment. Many herbs are pest resistant so they are great
companion plants for your vegetables and are easy for beginners to grow.
In this class we will be going over topics such as:
● Medicinal herb garden design
● Planning and selecting medicinal herbs for your growing space
● Annual vs perennial medicinal herbs
● Seeds and transplants
● Polyculture and companion planting with medicinal herbs
● Understanding growing conditions
● And how to harvest and use what you grow
Participants will develop a plan to incorporate medicinal herbs into their garden and also start
seeds to bring home and grow.
Students do not need to bring any materials to class.
