Topics

Join home cheesemaker and traditional food aficionado Linda Conroy for a fun, hands-on class. We’ll begin the day by making cultured milk and cream products, including kefir, yogurt, and piima, a Scandinavian cultured cream. From there, we’ll transform these into fresh cheeses such as paneer, feta, and mozzarella.

Participants will go home with cultures, cheese, rennet, and recipes to continue their cheesemaking journey at home.

Instructor will provide the following:

All cheese making supplies, including cheese cloth, cheese pots and spoons, cultures, rennet, and handouts with recipes.

Students are asked to bring:

An apron and closed-toe shoes.

Since your class runs over the lunch hour, we recommend you bring a lunch or click HERE to learn about local eating opportunities. Cheese samples will be shared during class.

Skill Level

No experience is required. This class will offer students with all levels of knowledge insight into the cheese making process.

Age Requirement

Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Students ages 16 and 17 may attend without a parent/guardian in attendance as long as MMFS is provided with written parental permission by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
