Breathe new life into your old jeans, jackets, and other denim pieces in this hands-on workshop focused on creativity and sustainability. You’ll learn visible mending techniques such as patching, sashiko-inspired stitching, and creative repair methods. The class will combine some machine sewing and hand stitching. There will be 1-2 sewing machines on hand that the class can share as needed; feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you want.

The instructor will provide plenty of inspiration, design ideas, and guidance to help you reimagine your denim with personality and purpose. You will leave with a partially finished or completely repaired and renewed piece of denim. Perfect for all skill levels, but some stitching experience is preferred (denim can be hard to stitch). Bring your old denim and an open mind!

Your instructor will provide the following:

  • Denim and other fabrics
  • Needles
  • Thread and needle threader

Students are asked to bring:

  • Scissors
  • Denim / other fabric (the instructor will have some on hand if you do not have your own)
  • Optional: sewing machine

Skill Level
Open to beginners, but some stitching experience is preferred.
