Crafting Pure Beeswax Tapers – Saturday, March 29, 2025

Explore the art of crafting your own 100% pure beeswax tapers in this hands-on workshop.
Guided by Sara Wait of Slow Burn, you’ll learn the techniques and mindfulness behind creating
elegant, functional candles. Using locally sourced beeswax, you’ll hand-dip a pair of 12” tapers,
gaining insight into sustainable practices and the craftsmanship of candle making. Perfect for
beginners or those seeking a creative, intentional experience, this class invites you to slow
down and enjoy the process of creating something beautiful and practical. You’ll leave with your
handcrafted tapers and a deeper appreciation for this timeless craft.

Instructor Sara Wait is the founder of Slow Burn, a boutique beeswax candle company based in St. Paul, MN. With a background in mindfulness and sustainable practices, Sara creates handcrafted, locally sourced candles designed to inspire intentional living and a connection to nature. Your instructor will provide all materials needed for class, which include:

• Locally sourced, 100% pure beeswax
• Cotton wicks
• Dipping setup and tools
• Finishing tools

No experience needed.

Age Requirement
Students ages 16 or older are welcome to attend the class. Ages 16-17 can register with parent permission, which you can give with an email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
