Learn how to (safely!) transform plastic waste into art, material for sewing, and more! Participants will make beautiful material pieces to take home. There are so many possibilities for using this handmade material work of art. Here are a just a few ideas:
- Frame it for wall art
- Easily use a sewing machine to create a bag, pouch or fun accessory
- Cut it into pieces and shapes to make lightweight jewelry
- The sky is the limit!
What a fun, creative and earth-friendly option! You can feel good about re-using things that may have ended up in the trash, to create COOL new functional art!
All materials provided, but please bring some clean plastic grocery bags and a household iron if you can.
Materials that the instructor will provide:
- Iron
- parchment paper
- plastic bags
- plastic sheeting
Materials that students will need to provide:
- Clean plastic grocery bags if you have them
- Household iron if you have one

Age requirement:
Students ages 16+ are welcome to attend this class with parent permission via email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
Students, ages 10-15, may attend, but the student must attend with a participating parent or guardian. (Tuition for students, ages 10-15, is $10 with a paid adult; please email info@marinemillsfolkschool.org for a coupon code.)
