Benefit Event: Boat/Bike/Train Tour, Oh My!

Back by popular demand! 

Boat, bike, and ride a vintage train on this fabulous adventure! Boat across the St. Croix River with your bike on the former ferry route from Marine, MN to Somerset, WI, then experience a gorgeous bike ride through the Wisconsin countryside, followed by a train ride provided by the Minnesota Train Museum to return you and your bike back to Marine.

All arrangements are made for you!  You just need to show up with your bike for this fun adventure. Guided by MMFS Board members, we will ferry you and your bike across the St. Croix River, where you’ll then pedal into Osceola along beautiful country roads, see quaint farms and gorgeous views – about 10 miles. Take a well-earned break, have a picnic lunch, and explore the small town of Osceola. At the Osceola Depot, when the conductor yells ‘All Aboard!’, ride a Minnesota Transportation Museum vintage train (with your bike!) back to Marine, crossing the St. Croix River on the way. The train will deliver you to the site of the old depot in Marine, then you’ll cruise down the hill back to your waiting vehicle.

As enthusiastically reported by prior groups, it is a wonderful way to see the Valley and a unique adventure that won’t be forgotten.

The minimum age is 12, and each rider must have a working bike and a helmet. The route to Osceola is along mostly paved country roads with light traffic, and includes a hill that goes from the river to the top of the river bluff, as well as other more gradual ups and downs.

The entire adventure takes approximately 5.5 hours and will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The cost includes the purchase of your train ticket. The minimum number of spots must be sold for the event to occur.

We’ll have room for up to 20 people; each spot is sold separately. Get a group organized and spend the day together, make it a family activity, or sign up on your own or with a friend. How often can you say you’ve been on a boat, a bike, and a train, all in one day? And you’ll have a smile on your face the entire time!!
