Band Weaving: Plain Weave on an Inkle Loom – Saturday, May 17, 2025

Band loom weaving is easier than you may think and it is a great way to start weaving. The bands woven on an Inkle loom are versatile and very useful. This type of weaving has been around for centuries, there are endlessly fascinating weavings that can be created on an Inkle loom.

In this class, students learn basic band weaving skills and weave a patterned plain weave cotton band. At the end of the class, you will leave with a memento from your experience, perhaps a bookmark, keychain, or lanyard, depending on how long a band you decide to weave.

Your instructor will provide the following materials:

• 99% warped loom (warping is not taught in this class but is briefly discussed).
• Shuttle (Pre-Wound and ready to use).
• Hardware to finish bands as keychains or lanyards
• Written Instructions
