Calligraphy for Fun – July 28, August 4, and August 11

Discover the art of hand lettering with dip pens in the “Kinane Script,” developed by calligrapher and instructor Mary Anne Kinane. Each class will focus on a portion of the alphabet, with guided instruction and take-home handouts to support your practice. Using traditional nibs and holders, you’ll create elegant, ribbon-like letterforms by hand.

As you build your skills, you’ll also explore how to apply this script in meaningful ways—from addressing envelopes and completing special documents to writing poems, certificates, and awards. 

Please note that this class meets on Tuesdays for 3 weeks: July 28, August 4, and August 11.

About the Instructor: Mary Anne Kinane 

Instructor will provide the following:

• handouts of the alphabet 

• pen handles and 3 nibs

• ink 

• calligraphy practice paper

Students are asked to bring:

• Optional: any calligraphy supplies you have

• Wear clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting ink on

Skill Level 

No experience required.
