Needle Case with Whimsical Style Embroidery

This class will explore multiple small embroidery designs enhanced with beads, sequins, buttons, and pearls. You’ll learn a free-form approach to hand embroidery that encourages creativity and imagination, offering inspiration for this project and many future ones. Influenced by Swedish embroidery practitioners, this class blends traditional approaches with creative experimentation.

The needle case project will focus on both beauty and function. The inside needle storage will be practical and well-constructed, while the outside offers a playful surface for expressive stitching and embellishment.

Instructor will provide the following:

All materials for the embroidery projects, including: fabrics, trim for edging, sequins, pearls, beads, pearl cottons, pattern, embroidery instruction sheet, needles.

Students are asked to bring:

• embroidery scissors

• any embellishments that you choose to incorporate

Skill Level 

Both beginner and advanced embroiderers will gain knowledge through this class.

Age Requirement 

Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Students ages 16 and 17 who have some previous embroidery experience may attend without a parent/guardian in attendance as long as MMFS is provided with written parental permission by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
