Karen Engelbretson

A local artist from Grant, Karen Engelbretson has been making needle felted birds since 2008.  She regularly teaches at the Textile Center of Minnesota https://textilecentermn.org/ and other locations.  Karen is a semi-retired graphic designer currently working with organizations to communicate the need to improve water quality and restore wildlife habitats.

Needle felt a beautiful Eastern Bluebird! Students will learn techniques for needle felting a three-dimensional, lifelike bird from corriedale wool roving, and to felt fine detail using merino prefelt and merino roving.  Participants will learn needle felting basics and techniques to needle felt details and realism in wool.
