Create your own postcards or mountable art pieces in this beginner-friendly printmaking class! Students will draw, carve, and hand-print multiples of a 4” x 6” black-and-white relief design—either from their own ideas or from sample images provided by the instructor.

You’ll learn how to safely handle carving tools, properly ink and print your design using hand-printing methods, and troubleshoot common at-home printmaking challenges. The instructor will also share tips for adding color to your prints at home, if desired.

Your instructor will provide the following:

• rulers
• newspaper
• pencils
• scissors
• tape
• miniature printing press
• carving tools
• sharpening tools
• ink knife for demonstration. 

Students are asked to bring:

• A work apron if they have one, or clothes they do not mind staining

Skill Level
No experience required. 

Age Requirement
Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Ages 16-17 can register with parent permission (by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org).
