Topics Riley Kleve
Go for the gold! Instructor Riley Kleve will guide you through natural dyeing step-by-step, using locally foraged goldenrod plants for pigment to create beautiful yellow hues. We’ll have bandanas prepped and ready to dye in class, creating pattern through simple ties and resists. For fans of more moody tones, we’ll also have an iron dye pot to deepen the results to a more tempered tone.
Bring along a piece of fabric, small garment, skein of yarn or tuft of wool to add to the dyepot as well (natural fibers like wool, cotton, linen, or silk only). You’ll leave with a wealth of knowledge on natural dye techniques to practice in the future, along with two completed projects.
