Create, Connect, Age Well Presents…

Create Paper Moravian Stars with Karen!

Using narrow strips of paper, learn how to fold beautiful three dimensional stars. The tradition started in the 1800’s by a Moravian math teacher, to teach his students about geometry. You will receive and follow specific, clear directions to make one or more stars and attach a hanger. Paper and hanger options will be explored.

Your instructor will provide the following:

  • Colorful paper strips
  • A wire “needle” made by the instructor for threading a hanger
  • The Origami Resource Center directions for making Moravian stars.

What is Create, Connect, Age Well all about????
People are living longer than ever and the world continues to change at an increasingly fast pace. Marine Mills Folk School recognizes how challenging it is to stay physically, mentally and socially strong in this environment. Create, Connect, Age Well is a folk school experience that helps aging adults (65+) thrive in the 21st century. Try something new. Build skills. Be creative. Connect with others looking to live long!

Each Create, Connect, Age Well session includes:

  • An instructor-led Folk School learning experience that exercises the brain and stretches the imagination!
  • Social connection and reflection time
  • A safe and welcoming environment to try something new!
  • Coffee, tea and snacks

This program is made possible through a partnership with Christ Lutheran Church in Marine on Saint Croix. Thank you, CLC!
