This class will take place over 3 days for a total of 9 hours:

Friday, July 31 – 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday, August 1 – 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday, August 2 – 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Build your own beautiful bent shaft canoe paddle! Students will learn about wood selection and grains, use of hand tools and skill saw, paddle design and considerations, and paddle sizing. Each student will leave with a completed bent shaft paddle ready for varnishing.

Kevin has helped over 175 students make their own bent shaft canoe paddle. It will become an heirloom to pass down to loved ones for years to come!

About the Instructor: Kevin Nyenhuis

Space is extremely limited, so register early! Only 6 participants per class.

Instructor will provide the following:

All tools, supplies, and wood will be provided. This class will take place in a workshop with doors open to the outside; N-95 masks for dust protection will be supplied.

Students are asked to: 

wear clothing that can get permanently stained/damaged

Age Requirement
Want to share this experience with a younger friend or relative? Students 14 years old and older are welcome to join this class, with each participant working on their own paddle. Students ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Each student must register separately and pay the class fee.
