The carving knife is an essential tool for any dedicated woodworker or craftsperson. This two-day class will teach you the skills to embed a knife blade into a close-grained, figured piece of wood, and custom fit it to your hand grip. You will also learn how to keep the knife “scary sharp,” which is essential for precise carving and a smooth finish on your projects. Students are welcome to bring their own pieces of wood to make their handles with, as well as any loose blades they may have in need of handles. Knife handle blanks and blades will be available for purchase from the instructor.
Note that this is a 2-day class, taking place Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Instructor will provide the following:
Instructor will supply all necessary tools for this class. However, if you have a carving knife and your own sharpening equipment, you are encouraged to bring them to class.
