Where does thread come from? Have you ever wondered how a spinning wheel works or how your wool socks or sweater were made? In this class, you’ll explore the fundamentals of spinning, including:
• Wheel parts
• Treadling
• Fiber uptake
• Drafting
• Plying
• Setting and finishing
All fibers will be provided by the instructor, and spinning wheels will be available for use through the folk school.
What students should bring to class:
- camera if it helps you document your learning experience
- paper and writing utensil if it helps you document your learning experience
Age Requirement
Students ages 10 and older are welcome to attend this class.
Skill Level
No experience needed.
