Create a woven scarf on a rigid heddle loom! In this two-session workshop, learn to warp a loom, wind a shuttle, hem stitch, weave and discuss troubleshooting, on the first day. During the second session learn several fringe options and how to wet finish. Discuss how to plan for future projects on the loom including determining the quantity of warp and weft yarns and which yarns work best. Participants will need to weave at home between each session.
Materials fee of $45 includes use of rigid heddle loom, full color handout booklet, and choice of yarn to complete one scarf: Super wash Merino wool yarn in several colorways for a subtle plaid scarf or White Cotton Slub and Solid Cotton-Rayon-Silk mixed yarn for a houndstooth check scarf.
In order to bring the loom home, students will be required to provide the instructor with credit card information to use as a deposit on the loom.
This is a two day class, first session is on May 3, from 10am to 4pm, and the second session is on May 17, from 10am to 1pm.
