Carson Gross

Carson is a wild-food enthusiast and educator. His fascination with fungi began in Western Pennsylvania, when a friend showed him a bright orange chicken-of-the-woods mushroom. He was immediately hooked and set out to learn everything he could about foraging for mushrooms, an obsession that continues to today. Carson joined the Western PA Mushroom Club in 2018 and was designated a group identifier in 2021. After moving to Minnesota, Carson joined the Minnesota Mycological Society, where he leads walks and shares his knowledge about local species. He aims to make classes fun and approachable so anyone can get out in the woods and enjoy all the wonderful mushrooms that our region has to offer.
