Heather Mashuga

Heather Mashuga recognized her passion for plants and herbalism in her first herbalism class, proceeding to earn her master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies, with a concentration in herbalism, from St. Catherine’s University.  She practices traditional Western herbalism and has been a practitioner and teacher for 4 years.  Heather incorporates knowledge and traditions of herbal medicine descended from European, Anglo-American, and Native American heritage, findings from biomedical studies and research, and her own intuition.

Foraging for Wild Edible & Medicinal Plants + Herbal Remedies for Health

This is a combination class with Tanna Worrell, the Friendly Forager, and Heather Mashuga, master herbalist.   Participants will learn about how to ethically forage and how to identify plants for both eating and for medicinal and health benefits.  At the end of class, the group will prepare a dish to eat and make a folk medicine salve, tincture or infused oil to take home.
