Success with Succulents (age 16+) – Saturday, March 29, 2025

This fun and informational class will teach you how to care for succulents, with tips to grow them with success indoors and outside. Whether you love succulents, struggle with succulents, or have never tried them, this class is for you! Students will put their fresh knowledge to use, getting their hands dirty planting their own succulent garden to take home. The informational session will be conversational in nature, covering topics from common misconceptions, pests and problems, and demystifying succulent care. The session will include an opportunity for question and answer, as well as a tutorial for propagating succulents to keep the growing going! After the learning portion of class, there will be a planting demonstration before the self-guided planting begins. Students will choose from a variety of succulents and decorative soil toppings to make their own succulent garden in a terra cotta planter. Succulent gardens can be enjoyed indoors until summer when they can go outside if desired!

Your instructor will provide the following:

• A variety of succulents
• Decorative soil toppings
• Terra cotta planter
• Printed care guide
• Propagation starter kit

Students are asked to bring:

• Feel free to bring a notebook to take notes during the informational part of class. 
• We will be planting bare handed, students should bring thin gardening gloves or medical gloves if they prefer.
• Participants may want to bring a beverage and snacks if needed during the class.

Skill level
No skills or experience needed! All you need is a willingness to learn, experiment, and get your hands dirty!

Age Requirement
Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class. Ages 16-17 can attend with parent permission by email to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org.
