Ribbed Basket Basics – August 17 & 18, 2024

Learn the basic rib basket-making techniques and take home your first Ribbed Egg Basket! 

Join Kirsten, a long-time instructor who will have you laughing and learning, she’ll help you ease into basket weaving with no stress, you’ll be amazed at how fast the time goes.

You will learn rib basic basket-making techniques. Thoughts on this basket:

• This basket is not very big but provide you with all the instruction to make ribbed baskets

• This basket will be a prerequisite for the Potato Basket which will be taught later, (more on that to follow).

• Making a ribbed basket is different from making a flat reed basket

*This class runs over two days:
Saturday, August 17 (9:30-3) and Sunday, August 18 (9:30-noon)

You will work hard during this class but the outcome will be well worth it. There is truly something magical about taking basic supplies from nature and making a functional work of art. You will love this class!

The instructor will provide all weaving supplies.

Students are asked to bring:

• Bucket (at least ice cream bucket size or larger)
• Wooden clothespins (at least 15)
• Strong scissors
• Measuring tape
• Needle-nosed pliers
• Small flat head screwdriver
• Spray bottle
• Pencil for marking
• Apron or old clothing that can get wet and perhaps snagged

Skill Level
No experience required.
