In this class, you will learn two fundamentals of metalsmithing — piercing and riveting — as well as how to properly use a jeweler’s saw and hand drill, set a basic non-ferrous rivet and learn design skills that work for the technique. You will leave the class with all of these skills along with a pair of Earrings!

Materials that the instuctor will provide:

  • 20 gage copper and brass wire
  • 16 gage copper and brass wire
  • #55 drill bits
  • limited 20 gage sterling silver wire
  • glue stick
  • tracing paper
  • sandpaper
  • saw blades if necessary (size 2/0)

Materials that students will need to provide: 

  • Pencil for sketches
  • Sketching paper (nothing fancy)
  • Personal safety glasses
