Handcraft Holiday Decorations and Gifts, Saturday, November 2, 2024

Come use your imagination and learn how to make hand printed stencil fabric to ultimately create Handcraft Holiday Decorations and Gifts!   Kirsten Aune, a well known textile artist from Duluth, MN will this fun, colorful, class. Kirsten creates original geometric and floral designs using stencils that she cuts by hand and then arranges in dynamic visual compositions using bright blocks of color and bold designs. Her artistic style has been called “Modern Scandinavian.” We call it FANTASTIC!

In Kirsten’s class you will make your own stenciled fabrics: stockings, cloth wreaths and ornaments including the Swedish Dala horses.  Kirsten will guide you in making the fabric and will provide patterns for making that fabric into all things Christmasy. 

This class will set you up to work with Santa’s Elves and may spark other stencil making fabric design avenues and inspirations.   It is going to be so fun.

Students are asked to bring:

• Work apron.
• If you have one, please bring your sewing machine.  If you don’t MMFS will provide a machine to use.
• As your class runs over the lunch hour, we highly recommend you bring a lunch or click here to learn about local eating opportunities.

No experience required.

Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
