Family Day at MMFS – Saturday, February 15, 2025

We invite you and the young people in your life to come to the second Marine Mills Folk School Family Day 2025! Experience folk school education via hands-on traditional arts and crafts and exposure to new skills and ideas.

In what we hope will become an annual event, we are offering mini-classes and demonstrations of some of our most popular classes, along with traditional folk arts, geared toward young learners. Children will be welcome to try Shibori dyeing, knitting, sewing, and more folk arts, with time and opportunity to make and take items home. Everyone will also have opportunities to observe and engage with wood carvers, West African drummers, and Bluegrass musicians. Be inspired and to learn more about folk arts and Marine Mills Folk School!

Drop in anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th. The final demonstration will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Materials and food
All materials are provided free of charge along with a small snack for each child. You may also bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Note that there is no food service onsite.

*Note: Grown-ups must accompany child(ren) at all times.

Cost Details
$5/person or up to $25/family. Please register for each member of your family unless you have more than 5 people in your family. In that case, you can register yourself and select the family price add-on when you check out.
