Come and be inspired by letting the hand and heart enjoy something new with help from needle and thread. Use the stitches you learn as samples for future projects.
The goal of this class is to use the basic techniques of embroidery like stem, feather, and blanket stitches, adding French knots or couching to outline and fill in as you combine varied stitches to add interest to your work.
This project will produce several variations of embroidered hearts. One will be selected to place on the front of a cell phone case. The final steps of the cell phone case will need to be done by machine at home. Instructor Natalie Norman will show you how to put this project together easily.
Your instructor will provide the following materials:
- Solid fabric for backing and for cell phone case
- embroidery floss
Students are asked to bring:
- sewing shears
- magnification if needed
- As your class is scheduled over a lunch hour, we recommend you bring a lunch or click here to learn about local eating opportunities in the area.
This course will cover embroidery stitches for a beginner or a seasoned needle worker.
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
