Birches and Fall Color In Watercolor Batik- Saturday, October 19, 2024

Watercolor Batik has become one of our most popular classes at Marine Mills Folk School.  Kim Gordon is a fantastic instructor who guides you expertly through this process.  You will not be disappointed!

Try your hand at watercolor batik, a modern twist on the ancient Javanese art of batik. You will work with an image from an original watercolor batik showing birches and fall foliage. You will be provided with a little history and theory and then hands on fun batiking. We will work with watercolor on Kinwashi paper. This class will help you gain skills in batik so that you can continue exploring the medium on your own.

Instructor will provide:

Your instructor will provide all materials as well as information on building your own batik kit at home.

Students to Provide:

Students may want to bring a snack or lunch as this class does go over the lunch hour.

No experience needed.

Age Requirement
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.
