Beginning Spinning on a Wheel – Saturday, March 29, 2025

Where does thread come from? Have you ever wondered how a spinning wheel works, or how your wool socks or sweater was made?

This class will explore the fundamentals of spinning.

– wheel parts
– treadling
– fiber uptake
– drafting
– plying
– setting and finishing

All fibers will be provided by the instructor. Wheels will be provided by the folk school.

What students should bring to class:

– camera if it helps you document your learning experience

– paper and writing utensil if it helps you document your learning experience

Age Requirement
Students ages 10 and older are welcome to attend this class.

Skill Level
No experience is needed.
