I Was Hooked! Foraged & Farmed Holiday Wreaths

Lindsay Ellis has a new holiday tradition, thanks to the Foraged & Farmed Holiday Wreaths class at Marine Mills Folk School. As she gears up for her third year of taking the class, Lindsay shares what makes this activity so special for her and her family.

“This will be the third year that my mom, Molly Womack, and I are making wreaths at Marine Mills Folk School. My sister-in-law, Becca Post, joined us last year and she’ll be back this year, too. We couldn’t be more excited!

Becca Post’s foraged and farmed wreath on her front door was so naturally beautiful that it attracted a pair of nesting birds!

“Last year, the three of us made a day of it, including a beautiful fall drive out to the quaint town of Marine on St. Croix. We went out for burgers afterward at a local joint.

“The wreath-making instructor, Hallie, is fantastic! She makes it all really easy to do. I honestly could not believe that I could make something that beautiful. I cannot describe the feeling of holding up that wreath when you are done assembling it to see how amazing it is and know that you actually did it!

“It was so easy to do that I was able to make my own smaller wreath at home from clippings from my trees.

“This has become an annual holiday tradition for the ladies in my family. We are so looking forward to kicking off the holiday season with wreath making again this year!”
