Weld a Steel Rose – Saturday, September 28, 2024

Amaze your friends by making this easy but looks difficult Steel Rose!

This class will introduce you to TIG welding and hand tool use for metal work. TIG welding uses an inert gas (argon) and bonds metal to metal without a wire feed, rods or sticks. You must have some hand strength to use the cutting and bending tools that shape the rose. Local artist Greg Kraft will cover safety and design instruction. We will use 3 steel discs and a steel rod to create a rose that will last forever. There will be a brief discussion of rose history and art to open the class.

Safety First! Wear a long-sleeved cotton shirt, long-legged blue jeans (or other sturdy long-legged work pants), closed-toed leather shoes or boots.

Students are asked to bring:

• leather work gloves
• welding helmet if you have one

Age Requirement
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
