Ele Anderson

From my earliest memories, I have had a passion for creating art of almost every kind, from photography and digital arts to pottery, painting, jewelry, and most recently fiber arts and weaving. My varied interests have led me into the wonderfully rich, unlimited realm of mixed media art.

Over the years I have led many small group arts projects with elementary aged students and adult groups. Coming from a background in book publishing and marketing communications, I currently work at River Grove, the charter school in Marine, where I continue to lead arts and craft clubs. I’m looking forward to sharing my love for nature-inspired “visual arts storytelling” with the Marine Mills Folk School patrons.

Intergenerational – Mixed Media Weaving

Create a whimsical mixed media mini tapestry using basic weaving techniques with beautiful yarns and fibers on a simple loom of burlap and matboard. Then, layer strips of book pages, mulberry paper, or printed sheets to build your visual story. Finally, embellish with found objects, beads and jewelry components, buttons and paper flowers, or sticks and other natural items.
