Learn about Tunisian crochet, which is like a cross between crochet and weaving that produces a waffle-like texture. Tunisian crochet is believed to be started by the French in the early 1800s.
In this class, students will learn the process of working Tunisian crochet stitches in the round, which can be useful for hats, headbands, cup sleeves, and other circular projects. It is a surprisingly simple process of moving stitches back and forth across a special double-ended hook. You can even use two colors to make your project reversible!
During the class, we will work on a cozy warm hat that you can add an optional pom pom to. You may not finish the hat in class, but you will learn all the steps and take home the pattern, which is adaptable to other sizes.
Skill Level
No Tunisian crochet experience is required. However, it is helpful. Students who took the beginning Tunisian crochet class will love this next project.
