January often brings the post-holiday season blues and the realization that it is still three to four months before your spring bulbs begin to burst through a softened earth. What is a person to do? Begin the New Year, birding through the seasons to beat the winter blues! Let cheerful chickadees and colorful cardinals brighten your New Year!
Join the folk school and bird enthusiast, Jaime Souza, for January Journaling and the Joy of Birding! We will learn about the backyard birds that are sampling the seeds at feeders in January, gain insight into birds’ favorite feeder foods, discover the joy of birding and journaling while observing winter bird behavior, and begin planning our spring bird-friendly landscaping. Additionally, we will sample shade-grown, bird-friendly coffee and take a neighborhood birding stroll to practice observation, identification and using binoculars.
