Make a one one-of-a-kind tote bag using stencils and Bengala mud dyes from Japan.
Bengala dyes are made from soil and are both environmentally safe and fun to use. In this class you will learn the history and cultural significance of this unique and ancient dye form. You will choose a choose from a variety of stencils and colors to design your own tote bag and use hair dryers and an iron to set the dyes in the fabric.
You are welcome to bring your favorite stencils if you have any you;d like to use in the class. Additionally you can also create a design without stencils in you wish. If there is additional time in class you are welcome to stencil another tote bag or item from home such as a t-shirt or piece of fabric (they must be light in color)
