Norwegian Pickup Band Weaving – January 13, 2023

There are endlessly fascinating weavings that can be created on an Inkle loom. This type of band weaving has been around for centuries. In this class, you will learn how to choose threads for the Norwegian pickup technique, how to warp a loom, how to follow a pickup pattern, how to pick up/drop pattern threads, and what to consider when designing a pickup pattern.

You will create a lanyard, key chain or bookmark in class. 

Your instructor will provide the following materials:

• Loom (90% warped; warping is not taught in this class but completing the warp familiarizes students with the threading for pick up patterns)
• Shuttle (pre-wound and ready to use)
• Written instructions

Skill Level
Intermediate. Students should have experience with Inkle weaving (our introductory class qualifies). 

Age Requirement
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.
