Become a Broom Squire! That is what a person who makes brooms is called. Leave class with THREE brooms! Yes that is right, three!
Experience tying a traditional hand broom, which dates back to Colonial America. You will learn the style of tying known as an angel wing or hawk’s tail. This angel wing broom is approximately 14-16 inches tall with a spread of 10-12 inches wide.
The handle process is known as plaiting the tops. We will be using reed for this process. Eric looks forward to sharing a passion of his with you.
Your instructor will provide:
- All supplies needed to make a broom
Students are asked to bring the following:
- Measuring tape
- Small flathead screwdriver
- Strong scissors
- Spray bottle
No experience required.
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
