Learn how to craft a custom wooden flute with instructor Charlie Prokop, president of the Minnesota Woodturners Association. Students will learn how a flute works, is constructed, and some history of flutes around the world. They will receive materials and instruction on how to make a flute.
Your instructor will provide the following materials:
- 2 prepared wooden flute blanks
- files
- sandpaper
- wooden dowels
- “birds”
- strapping
- wooden plug
- assorted other items needed
Students should bring the following materials:
- cordless drill
- 3 drill bits: 1/8”, 3/16”, and 1/4”Safety
- Safety Googles
- Gloves

Age Requirement
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
Skill Level
This is an intermediate-level class. Students should have a basic understanding of a hand drill, files, measuring and shaping wood.
