Inkle loom weaving is easier than you may think and it is a great way to start weaving. There are endlessly fascinating weavings that can be created on an Inkle loom. The bands woven on an Inkle loom are versatile and very useful. This type of weaving has been around for centuries.
In this class you will learn the basics of weaving on an Inkle loom. At the end of the class you will leave with a memento from your experience, perhaps a bookmark, keychain or lanyard, depending on how long a band you decide to weave.
Your instructor will provide the following materials:
- Loom (99% warped; students will warp the last few threads for experience)
- Shuttle (pre-wound and ready to use)
- Written instructions
Students are asked to bring:
- snacks, water or lunch as there are no food facilities at the school
- A pair of scissors
- Clean container about the size of a large coffee can
No experience required
Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.
