This course offers an introduction to pin loom weaving – weaving on a small, portable loom in the palm of your hand. Participants will have the opportunity to weave on both 2-inch and 4-inch looms. Each participant will weave squares to construct a Flat Rat, invaluable as a bookmark or to use as a somewhat bizarre coaster. Students will build weaving and construction skills including the use of simple crochet (for the tiny rat ears).

This is a fun way to explore a new, interesting craft that is gaining popularity with people who are new to weaving as well as seasoned weavers who would like to expand their practice with a light, portable form of weaving.

The use of all looms and weaving tools, as well as all the required yarn, will be provided by the instructor.

Your instructor will provide the following materials:

  • Written instructions for weaving on the 2” and 4” pin loom
  • Printed handout on constructing the Flat Rat
