Learn basic crochet techniques while making an adorable crocheted bunny! Once you finish your spring-themed friend, you will want to make more and more. They make great gifts, too.
Instructor Cara Corey will help you explore the art of amigurumi, a Japanese word for a crocheted stuffed doll. First, you will practice making a basic single crochet stitch by working on a swatch that can be made into a cup cozy. Then you will learn how to form rounds, increase and decrease, stuff your creations, and embellish them with tiny faces. This basic pattern can be used to make other animals as well.
While some basic crochet experience will make the project go faster, it is not required. Cara has adapted the class to be more beginner-friendly. We will use a chunky, smooth yarn with a large hook to help you work up your pieces quickly.
Your instructor will provide the following materials:
- Practice yarn and bunny yarn
- Crochet hook
- Stitch marker
- Yarn needle
- Plastic safety eyes
- Sewing needle and thread
- Printed pattern
Students are asked to bring:
- bag lunch and/or snacks if needed
Students ages 16 and older are welcome to attend this class.
