Gentla SomaYoga for Every Body with Sue!

Soma yoga is a very gentle and slow-paced practice to decrease tension patterns in the body and mind, connect breathing with movement, and to allow individual variations of the poses.  Retraining our muscles brings greater balance, stability and ease to our daily activities.  You may notice decreased stress and an increased sense of calm as you go about your day.

Learn a series of gentle somatic movements to relieve tension in chronically tight areas and find your best classic asana variation for a practice that is generous and kind to your body.

This yoga class is appropriate for all levels.  You can use a chair if you would like, with no need to get on the mat/floor at all if you prefer.  There will be variations throughout the class for all abilities.

After yoga finishes there will be donuts, coffee and time to relax and converse before going on with the day if you would like!

Students may bring:

• Water bottle
• Yoga mat if you have one (we will have plenty of extras if you do not have one)

Skill Level
Beginner, or those wanting to include a gentle reset practice for their bodies

People are living longer than ever and the world continues to change at an increasingly fast pace. Marine Mills Folk School recognizes how challenging it is to stay physically, mentally and socially strong in this environment. Create, Connect, Age Well is a folk school experience that helps aging adults (65+) thrive in the 21st century. Try something new. Build skills. Be creative. Connect with others looking to live long!

Each Create, Connect, Age Well session includes:

• An instructor-led Folk School learning experience that exercises the brain and stretches the imagination!
• Social connection and reflection time
• A safe and welcoming environment to try something new!
• Coffee, tea and snacks

Age Requirement
Students ages 65 and older are welcome to attend this class.

NOTE:  Be aware we may cancel class if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance a teacher’s need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
