Brioche is unequalled for its lofty texture and distinctive ribbed appearance. As if that’s not enough, it’s reversible. But it’s also mysterious! Even experienced knitters often have trouble grasping it. However, as a teacher experienced in teaching brioche, Liz presents all the information, secret tips, and guidance knitters need to learn it — without struggling! Once you know brioche, you can say with confidence that knitting is your superpower! And once you get it, it’s hard to put down.
The class size will be small and the atmosphere will be relaxed and friendly. Learning new knitting techniques requires learning new motor skills, so be prepared to be gentle and patient with yourself as you learn, and be ready to ask for help when you need it.
This is a challenging class, most appropriate for intermediate-level knitters who are comfortable with knitting and purling and have completed a number of projects.
Your instructor will provide:
- Materials kit that includes two lovely contrasting skeins of soft wool, which is sufficient to make a scarf that will be started in class. The kit also includes a five-page handout loaded with helpful information that includes the scarf pattern.
Students should bring to class:
- US Size 8 [5 mm] circular needle 24” long
- several stitch markers
- water and/or snacks, as there are no food facilities at the school
