It is Farmer’s Market time and instead of using plastic bags at your local market, how about your very own handmade Williamsburg Market Basket?

Here’s a fun class to learn all the basic basket-making techniques using reed.  In this class, you will make your very own Market Basket to fill with home gown veggies or fresh bread from the bakery or whatever! You’ll learn how to lay out the base of the basket, shape the sides and create a very sturdy rim. This basket uses a 10″ Williamsburg Handle and when you are done, you will have a very strong, sturdy basket for years to come.  Basket measures 14″ in diameter with a 10″ bottom and 8″ sides.

Students will have various colored reed to choice from when making your basket.

Kirsten is a long-time instructor, she’ll help you ease into basket weaving with no stress, and you’ll be amazed at how fun the class is and how quickly it proceeds.

Kirsten will discuss how to finish your basket, either leaving it natural or staining it.  There is truly something magical about taking basic supplies from nature and making a functional work of art.  You will love this class!

The instructor will provide the weaving supplies for each student to make their basket (included in class fee).

She will also have actual basket weaving clippers and basket weaving tools available to buy at the class if desired (please bring your checkbook).
