Have you always wanted to learn how to spin your own wool?  Did you inherit Grandma’s old spinning wheel and wonder what to do with it?  Bring your own or borrow a spinning wheel and join us for an informative session learning to prepare and spin wool.

This half-day class will cover:

  • Working with your wheel – as you pedal, we will discuss basic wool types
  • Roving selection and beginning to spin
  • The next step: plying to make your yarn

Students should bring:

  • a spinning wheel, or rent a wheel for $10 (limited supply, so please be sure to let us know in the registration comments if you plan to rent from Janis)

    Hand spun wool blanket

  • Bag lunch or snacks

NOTE: Be aware we may cancel 5 days before class date if a minimum number of registrations not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
