Learn two more traditional Shibori folding techniques to create beautiful designs with fabric and indigo dye.
We will delve into Arashi (pole wrapping) and Nui (stitch resist) styles, which can be used to make finely detailed patterns.
If you have taken the introduction to Shibori dye class, you will build on the techniques learned there.
However, beginners are also welcome. Students will take home 4 pieces of dyed cotton fabric, and they can also bring additional items to dye.
The registration fee for this class includes a material fee of $15.
Please bring water/snacks if needed, as there are no food facilities at the school.
Please note: We’ve changed how each student pays for the material used during each in-person class. Each registration fee now combines the material fee and the instructor fee. We’ve made this change based on feedback from instructors and participants: instructors can focus more on teaching their class, and students don’t need to remember to bring the material fee to pay directly to the instructor.
NOTE: Be aware we may cancel class if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
