Intergenerational: Relax…Breathe…Weave: Exploring Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom

Details

Date & Time: October 12 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Class Fee: $85

Materials Fee: $10
Covers cost of materials for this class. Bring and pay directly to instructor.

Skill Level: No Experience Needed

Whether you are a beginner or experienced weaver, you will enjoy learning how to weave on the versatile Schacht “Cricket” Rigid Heddle Loom. You will complete a table runner or set of coasters, learning how to create patterns using color, fiber texture and a few simple techniques.  We may venture outside to weave, if weather permits, to find some truly natural fibers to incorporate into your weaving.

Looms will be pre-warped for all weavers. You’ll create a weaving that your heart and your fingers desire. Come and experience the joy of weaving!

Students should bring:
– fibers from home to share with others, if available
– a snack or bag lunch (or stroll down to village center to buy lunch)

Intergenerational Age 10+: Adults are invited to share in the fun of learning a new skill with a younger person. Each child must be accompanied by an adult and will share a loom.   There is no charge for the additional person, just complete the registration for 1 adult and note the name and age of the child in the comment section of the registration.

NOTE: Be aware we may cancel class date if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
