Raising backyard chickens is fun!  As one of our chicken-raising board members says, “You can lose hours watching chickens!  Plus, eggs are nature’s perfect food!”   In this backyard chicken class you will learn everything you need to get started raising your own chickens for eggs or food!

  • Breeds – Layers & Broilers
  • Housing & Predators
  • Chicken Health & Welfare

You will also leave with handouts and instructional videos to help make your chicken raising a total success!

Intergenerational:  Age 10 – 17: Adults are invited to share in the fun of learning a new skill with a younger person. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge for the additional young person, just complete the registration for 1 adult and note the name and age of the child in the comment section of the registration.

Our Location:  Marine Elementary School, 550 Pine St., Marine on St. Croix, MN  55047

General Age Policy:
All classes are for adults (18+) unless otherwise noted.
